Although the Web has come on in leaps and bounds over the past few years CD ROM is still the industry standard for the delivery of impactful multimedia. It does not rely on an Internet connection and it doesn't require a DVD drive (which are still not standard in the majority of business machines).

CD ROM is also less restrictive than DVD video in that it can play on any desktop or laptop PC; admittedly the video play back is not quite as good but the sheer flexibility of this platform make it a winner. Using "Macromedia Director" we can not only build the simple corporate presentations that I am sure everyone has seen but we can also build dynamic bespoke applications more cost effectively than developing in say c++.
